The vehicles people call about most
On the Southwest Side the calls aren’t only sedans. They’re the contractor’s van that finally quit, the pickup that’s been in the side yard since the transmission went, the minivan the kids outgrew that now needs a catalytic converter it doesn’t have. We buy all of them:
- Pickups, full-size and compact, two- or four-wheel drive
- Cargo and work vans, including high-roof vans
- Passenger vans and minivans
- SUVs and crossovers
Bigger than a pickup or a van? Box trucks, semis, tractors and trailers have their own page: box trucks and semi trucks. Motorhomes and campers are on RVs and campers.
Condition doesn’t decide whether we buy it; it decides the price. Running, not running, wrecked, rusted through or stripped, tell us what it is.
Why bigger vehicles price differently
A full-size truck or van is heavier than a compact car, and weight is a big part of what a junk vehicle is worth. But weight isn’t everything. What’s missing matters too, as does what condition the drivetrain is in and whether the catalytic converter is still there. Our guide on why junk car offers differ explains how buyers figure it.
Getting a big vehicle out
Trucks and vans tend to sit where cars don’t fit: a gravel side yard, behind a commercial building or in a long driveway. Tell us exactly where it is and how the driver gets to it. A van with a dead battery and flat tires is a normal pickup for us (free towing); a truck boxed in by other vehicles needs those moved first.
If your truck carries a city or village vehicle sticker, the stickers and plates guide explains what to do once it’s sold.
We pick up trucks and vans across the area, from Gage Park to Summit and Stickney, where a lot of vehicles sit near industrial lots. If yours doesn’t run, see non-running vehicles; if it burned or flooded, see fire and flood damage.

Questions people ask
Can you take a van that still has shelving or equipment inside?
Tell us what's in it. Remove your own tools, ladders and anything you want to keep before pickup. Built-in shelving can usually stay, but say so on the call, since it affects the vehicle's weight and how we price it.
Do you buy box trucks or larger commercial trucks?
Yes. Box trucks, step vans, semi tractors and trailers are covered on their own page, box trucks and semi trucks, because yard access and the tow work differently for them. Pickups, cargo vans, minivans and SUVs are routine and stay on this page.
My truck has commercial plates. Anything different?
The plates come off before the truck goes, the same as with a car. If the truck has a village or city vehicle sticker, check that guide too. Bring the title or the papers you have, and we confirm what works on the call.
