Junk cars of every make, bought for cash
What makes of junk cars does Masters Cash for Junk Cars buy?
Masters Cash for Junk Cars buys junk vehicles of every make across Chicago and the suburbs: Japanese, American, Korean and European cars, plus motorcycles, RVs, campers and commercial trucks. The brand doesn't decide whether we buy it. Condition, weight and what's missing set the offer, the tow is free and you're paid at pickup.
Call (708) 838-5553 · 24 hours, every day
These are the makes that turn up most on Chicago streets and in the alley garages and driveways around the city. For each group we've added what's worth telling us when you ask for an offer.
Japanese makes
- Toyota
- Honda
- Nissan
- Mazda
- Subaru
- Mitsubishi
- Lexus
- Acura
- Infiniti
- Scion
Hybrids such as the Prius, Camry Hybrid and Accord Hybrid carry a large high-voltage battery. Tell us whether it's still in the car and whether a shop has called it dead; it changes the number either way.
Say plainly whether the catalytic converter is still there. A car that's had its converter cut out is a different offer from one that hasn't, and the driver will look underneath at pickup.
American makes
- Ford
- Chevrolet
- GMC
- Dodge
- Ram
- Jeep
- Chrysler
- Buick
- Cadillac
- Lincoln
- Mercury
- Pontiac
- Saturn
- Oldsmobile
- Tesla
Brands that no longer exist, such as Pontiac, Saturn, Mercury and Oldsmobile, are common junk cars around here and we buy them like any other. A discontinued brand can make repairs harder to justify, which is often why people call.
Full-size pickups and SUVs weigh more than sedans, which counts in the offer. Electric cars like a Tesla or a Chevy Bolt are welcome too; tell us the battery's condition and whether the car has been in a flood or a fire.
Korean makes
- Hyundai
- Kia
- Genesis
Give us the exact model and trim when you can (an Elantra and a Santa Fe are priced differently even in the same year), plus whether the engine runs, knocks or has seized.
If a dealer or a recall notice says an engine needs work it hasn't had, mention it. We'd rather hear it on the call than find it at pickup.
European makes
- Volkswagen
- BMW
- Mercedes-Benz
- Audi
- Volvo
- Mini
- Porsche
- Land Rover
- Jaguar
- Fiat
- Saab
European cars often become junk when a single expensive repair, such as a transmission or timing work, costs more than the car is worth running. That's a normal sale for us, and the parts that still work count in the offer.
Have the VIN handy. Engine and trim options vary a lot within one model, and the VIN settles what the car actually is.
Motorcycles
- Harley-Davidson
- Honda
- Yamaha
- Kawasaki
- Suzuki
- Ducati
- Triumph
- BMW Motorrad
- Indian
- KTM
A motorcycle is titled in Illinois, so have the title ready like you would for a car. Tell us the engine size along with the make and model.
Crash damage, a bike that's sat for years or one that's half taken apart are all fine. Mention any parts in boxes so they go with the bike.
RVs, campers and commercial trucks
- Winnebago
- Jayco
- Forest River
- Thor
- Coachmen
- Fleetwood
- Keystone
- Airstream
- Freightliner
- International
- Peterbilt
- Kenworth
- Volvo Trucks
- Mack
- Isuzu
- Hino
For an RV or camper, the chassis make (often Ford or Chevrolet on a motorhome) matters as much as the coach brand. Give us both, with the length. See our page on RVs and campers.
For a semi, box truck or trailer, tell us the year, make, model and the trailer or box type. Several units from one yard can be priced together, and we arrange the right tow for each.
What to tell us, whatever the make
- Year, make, model and, if you know it, the trim or engine.
- Whether it runs, and what's wrong as far as you know.
- What's missing: catalytic converter, battery, wheels, engine or transmission parts.
- Which papers you hold. The state's rules decide what a scrap sale can go ahead on, and we check yours by phone.
- Where it sits and how the driver gets to it.
More on how the number is set in why junk car offers differ, and on papers in selling without a title. Cars that don't start are covered on non-running vehicles.
Questions about makes
Is there any make of junk car you won't buy?
No make is turned away. We buy junk, wrecked and non-running vehicles of every brand, including discontinued ones and imports that are hard to find parts for. What decides the offer is the vehicle's condition, weight and what's missing, not the badge on the front.
Does a luxury brand get a higher junk car offer?
Not automatically. A junk luxury car can be worth more if valuable parts are intact, but a high-end car with a seized engine and missing parts may be worth less than a common sedan in better shape. Give us the details and the number reflects the actual car.
My car's make isn't listed here. Do you still buy it?
Yes. The groups above are the makes we see most on Chicago streets, not a complete list. Send the year, make and model through the form and we'll price it the same way.
Every vehicle type we buy is on the what we buy page. When you're ready, get your offer; it doesn't expire, and one pickup can take more than one vehicle.
