There's no lot to drive to. We come to the car, which is the point when it doesn't start. Most of our pickups are from the places cars end up on this side of the city: an alley garage behind a bungalow, the concrete pad off a gangway, a two-flat's back lot, the curb on a side street, or a repair shop that has given up on the car.
We won't quote a price on the website, because a 2004 minivan with its catalytic converter and a 2004 minivan without one are worth very different amounts. Give us the details and you'll get a real number.

The title question
Have the title? Good, sign it over at pickup. Lost it, or the car is in someone else's name? Tell us what papers you do have: a bill of sale, the registration card, an old insurance card. Illinois rules decide which papers work for a scrap sale, and we'll tell you on the call where your car stands before anyone sends a truck.

Getting paid
You're paid when the car is picked up, not days later. Pick whichever suits you: Zelle, Cash App or cash in hand. The number you're paid is the number we agreed, provided the car matches what you described. Towing never comes out of it.
Before the driver arrives, empty the glove box and trunk, take the plates off and have your ID ready.

Can you pick the car up today?
Same-day pickup is often possible, depending on where the car is and when you reach us. We're available 24 hours, every day, so call or send the form whenever it suits you and we'll give you a pickup time that works.
Do you charge for towing?
No. There's no towing charge, and the tow never shrinks the offer. The amount we agree on the phone is what you're paid at pickup, as long as the car matches what you told us.
What payment options are there?
At pickup, when we collect the car. You choose cash, Zelle or Cash App. Have your ID and the papers ready, and keep your phone on so the driver can reach you.
Is Masters a junkyard or parts yard?
No. We don't have a yard you drive to and we don't sell parts. We buy junk cars and come to them, so you don't have to tow a dead car anywhere yourself. Our junkyard guide explains the difference.
Will you take a car in good running order?
Not usually. We're buyers for junk, wrecked, scrap and non-running vehicles. If your car runs well and has years left, you'll usually get more selling it privately or trading it in, and we'll tell you that on the call.
